Neither a borrower nor a lender be
Shakespeare said, in Hamlet:-
Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all: to thine ownself be true,

When an idea has been around as long as this one you must wonder if there is some truth in it but times have changed a lot since then so should we take any notice of it now?

It goes completely against the modern way of thinking. Few people still live by it’s mantra but the moral of what Shakespeare said is just as true today when related to loans from and to individuals. There are thousands of reputable companies to whom you will be safe to lend money to and you will be able to get your money back when you wish. How Is Your Budget For The Holidays?

Most people have tried it – spending more on the holidays than intended. I comes as a surprise again an again. What is it with money and budgets that do not work? People split up because of money. It is an invisible force from our subconscious mind that tricks us to buy stuff we can not afford at a given moment.

The best way to stop spending too much money over the holidays, is to set a budget for how much you can spend, especially for gifts, and then stick with it, no matter what. Even if you subconscious mind tells you it is okay. (more…)
